Ghanaians Worried Over Musicians Receiving No Award At the 2021 GRAMMYs

Ghana would have been congratulating some of the big names in the music industry for grabbing this year’s GRAMMYs, except they have been disappointed again this year. From observations, many are in anticipation such a proud moment in the Ghanaian music industry.

Nigerians are however not backing down at all as five of their artistes have made it to the list of award winners for the 2021 GRAMMYs.

Ghanaians have taken to social media to troll Ghanaian artistes for not meeting up to the standard of even getting a nomination at one of the world’s most prestigious awards schemes.

The Ghanaian Twitter feed isn’t helping matters as several concerns have been raised by music lovers and fanatics. Followers of the GRAMMYs have shared their thoughts on why they think Ghana wasn’t in the race.

While some blame the problem on less collaborations, others are insinuating that there is too much rivalry in the Ghanaian music industry.

Some celebrities have taken to their Twitter handles to share their views on the matter suggesting ways to solve the situation. See images below:

So far, the Nigerian artistes namely, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Femi Kuti, and Made Kuti, have made the list of winners of the 63rd Grammy Awards.

And so fellow Ghanaians, what do you think could be the issues facing our artistes and what solutions can be proposed to help us win more international awards next year?
