Ghanaian writer and lawyer, Adwoa Amoako Adjei has launched her first novel at a grand event which was held at the Accra City Hotel and chaired by Nana Kwasi Gyan. Announcing her maiden book launch, the author wrote, “I’m self-publishing my novel and I want to join the Ghanaian writers’ world.”
The book “Mixed Up”, written by lawyer Adjei, walks the reader through the life of a woman who faces so much pain, horror and battles with her love life. It touches on her life as a teenager and engages the reader to reminisce, relate and empathise.
According to her, the book is the first of many in the country. “The genre isn’t popular in Ghana but I dared myself”,she said, adding that she is first Ghanaian based author to self publish a mystery thriller fiction and first Ghanaian female to publish a mystery-thriller romance novel.
Other news websites and blogs also reported that “Our very own lawyer came out with her first and finest novel titled Mixed-up, full of mystery, comebacks, Sarcasm, Love and Suspense.”
Miss Adjei further stated that she is already working on two other novels and hopes that in no time she will have a collection. For her, Mixed-Up is an international standard modern-day social book. Also, she believes it’s time to support our own, especially in a time when Ghana is promoting the Buy Ghana agenda.
She believes is a good step for Ghana in the literature world and stated that what she needs from us is to help her create a bigger literature world in the Ghanaian market.
