The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has appointed Ms Abena Amoah as the new Managing Director of the organisation.
A statement by GSE announced that the new Deputy MD, Ms Abena Amoah will assist the Managing Director to plan and implement corporate strategies and marketing plans, among other responsibilities.
She will also be responsible for the operational activities of the company such as Trading and surveillance, listing and new products, the Ghana fixed income, as well as the IT systems of the exchange.
Ms Amoah’s experiences stem from her stock market listings and trading, mergers and acquisition advisory, investment research, large infrastructure project development, and other backgrounds. Her varied expertise which she has seamlessly delivered across diverse sectors of the Ghanaian financial sector puts her in the right position to steer affairs at the GSE.
Abena holds a First Class Honours in Bsc Administration from the University of Ghana Business School and also attended the University of Colorado’s Daniel College of Business.
She started her career as an investment analyst and stockbroker, growing to build and lead top investment banks in Ghana.
She is the first female executive director of the exchange and has rich and diverse experience of covering all constituents of Ghana’s capital market.
She is described as one of Ghana’s leading female investment bankers and financial advisors.
