The Eve Women Network is set to launch the Eve Festival today, December 15th, at the El-Wak Sports Stadium. The event which is spearheaded by the wife of Asantehen, Lady Julia Osei Tutu, is focused on empowering women to take up space and to be formidable in whatever field or venture they find themselves in.
With a panel of knowledgeable experts, the festival through summits also aims to examine how women should take care of their mental health and its associated challenges.
Speaking on the impact of the Eve Festival, Vice President of the network, Dr Vanessa Aseye Mensah-Kabu, in an interview said, “There are certain areas of the woman that we are really trying to target and throw some light on such as gender parity, gender-based violence, climate change and women’s health, as well as issues regarding mental health’’.
She added that, ‘’Eve Festival is just a platform for women where they can share their skills, network, mentor other women, and gain mentorship in their fields of endeavors, as well as in other fields.”
Activities to earmark this year’s event include, Eve Women’s Summit, vendor exhibitions, art exhibition, live portrait painting, Fashion show, cultural performances, medical screening, kids center, live band performances, among others.
Some notable speakers for the Eve Women’s Summit include, Mrs Ellen Hagan, CEO of L’aine Group; Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a Lawyer and Politician; Sheila Minkah-Premo, Managing Partner at Apex Law Consult; Edna Leslie Kuma, a Human Rights Lawyer; Kezia Kenneth Azumah, Board Member at FIDA; Beatrice Wiafe, a Surgeon; Claudia Lumor, Founder of Glitz Africa, among others.
The Eve Festival is a four-day event designed to support Ghanaian women both at home and abroad by fostering networking, enjoyment, and a support system.
