Be Inspired: 5 Trailblazing Women I Listen To

Yesterday, I touched on the topic of mentorship. It is only proper that I continue the subject matter this time to talk about role models. The concept of mentorship and role models is almost the same only a slight difference in meaning. Mentors are close to us while role models are distant from us. Whereas we may know and closely engage with mentors, role models are people we admire from a distance. In today’s post, let’s look at some top 5 women role models that I follow and whose podcasts have, and continue to, blesse me.

Sarah Jakes Roberts

Girl Get Up! If you’re not familiar with this podcast or sermons then you are really missing out. Her story of resilience really inspires me. And to think that she has turned her wounds into a message of hope for her generation is something to look out for as a lady. There has not been a time where I haven’t listened to her and be supercharged. She has really been a beacon of hope to many. Just go take a listen to her on Youtube incase you’re feeling down.

Funke Felix-Adejumo

This woman of God is something else. I call her “a force to reckon with”. By and large, her sermons have blessed many souls including mine. She usually speaks on knowing your worth, investment strategies, and building a godly home. Recently, she announced in one of her sermons that she has qualified for law school and I was bewildered. After everything she has achieved in ministry? I thought to myself. That’s the spirit!

Nozipho Tshabalala

This post was somewhat inspired by this great South African woman. They call her the conversation strategist. She is a global moderator and has moderated great discussions at international events including the UN Business Leadership Dialogue in Davos, Switzerland. I follow her Instagram page and have learnt a thing or two from her including her public speaking prowess. Nozipho is really inspiring and hardworking too. A look at her YouTube channel says a lot about her personality and the brand she has built over the years.

Shaffy Bello

Although I have seen her movies, the role she plays outside of movies made me realize her unique talent. Shaffy Bello is not only known for playing posh roles but she always gives off positivity aura. Her recent speech at the She Can Nigeria event is not only mind-blowing but thought provoking. It is also worth noting that she is a believer who has God as her source and has displayed this believe on her various platforms.

Anita Erskine

My home country woman of excellence. Her reels and posts are always a blessing. Funny thing is I remember her from being a host on the TV3 mentor platform when I was quite young. She vanished for a while and has bounced back to do very amazing things in the media. Her encouraging Instagram and LinkedIn reels which I keenly follow has been a source of inspiration in times when I have thought of giving up.
