Stretchmarks. We all dread it. One skin problem that many face whether slim or plus size. It finds it’s way on the tummy, on the under arms, behind the legs around the calves, around the breast, you name it. People have tried to remedy it with very expensive skincare products, but to no avail. Others have avoided certain cravings and delicacies just because of it. Here is a post to teach you a secret product to help manage this condition.
Body stretch
As we grow older our body stretches. We begin to lose some fat or add on more fat to our system. We grow taller or bigger and that shows on our body. The first time l saw stretch marks was on a slim friend. This shocked me a bit. However, it dawned on me that she was growing and the evidence was showing on her body. Stretch marks isn’t pretty, it can lower one’s self esteem as it spreads across very visible areas.
Pregna mom
A pregnant cousin was once sharing her secret to having smooth skin with me. I listened keenly as she told me that to have great skin after delivery one needed to constantly moisturize. She spread her little secret evenly on her belly each morning and night after every bath. She even asked me to wait and see the results after her delivery, going on to invite me over when baby came, just so I could see the results of her ‘hardwork’.
Tried and tested
‘Nkuto’ or Shea butter as we call it is predominantly made in the Northern part of Ghana. It is derived from the Shea nuts and beaten to pulp to generate the final product which we all love and enjoy carrying around on our travels. It is good for babies’ skin as well as for adults. It is a good massage oil which relaxes and heals the body from wounded tissues. After my cousin introduced it’s healing properties to me, I personally used it and I can testify of it’s wonders.
Body positivity
Stretchies, as I call them, can be nice on the skin. However, as they deepen, it can make one feel less of themselves and not want the skin they have. Try spreading some authentic Shea butter on them each day and witness the transformative power of the healing balm. We all need to feel beautiful in our skin so this is my early Christmas gift to you. Try Shea butter or any cream that has Shea butter base in them and thank me later. Blessing!
