The newly appointed Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia, Christine Chama, was selected among several others as a commissioner at the Human Rights Commission by President Hakainde Hichilema.
Christine Chama is a disability advocate, social worker and development specialist.
Ms Chama holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Development Studies with Sociology from the University of Zambia.
Christine is a former President of the University of Zambia Development Studies Association (UNZADESA) and former Student Representative for Learners with Disabilities.
She is passionate about seeing a change and she believes that to bring that change, she should first be the change herself.
In a statement, Christine Chama said, “I’m passionate about seeing positive change more especially in lives of persons with special needs. Therefore I believe for me to see that change I should first be the change”.
