Nigerian musician and hitmaker, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has swept two awards at the just ended BET awards ceremony. The Damages hitmaker has been in the news following her win as Best International Act and Best Collaboration for Essence which features Wizkid and Justin Bieber. This year seems to be a good one for the young songstress as she was recently awarded NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Music and NAACP Image Award for Outstanding International Song.

Tems music career began to soar in 2019 when her Try Me Album broke the airwaves. The success of the album saw her emerge as a big name in the music industry. Throughout her career, Tems has received several award nominations including Best Global Music Performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

Tems used the opportunity to thank all female artistes who inspire her and push her beyond her limits. Some of the female artistes who she gave special mentions to include, Asa, Omawumi, Yemi Alade, Simi, Tiwa Savage, Efya, Ayra Starr, Gyakie, Teni, among others.
