In building self discipline and self leadership, one needs a lot of goals and routine to get there. I am not there yet neither am I exaggerating that it is an easy feat. However, building oneself to last in times when it is easy to fall back and loose track is admirable. Defining your personal values and your purpose in life is a tedious daily routine that no one can do for you. What do you stand for? Why do you do the things you do? Let’s read on to find ways we can be built to last in chaotic situations.
Build a Culture
Define your personal values and your purpose in life. Do not try to change your core beliefs but rather seek improvement in finding ways to live your life diligently. Strong personal routines and habits that promote your personal growth is key to a lasting lifelong success. For instance, I like to write for my audience to read and gain insight into personal growth and development. Therefore, as part of my daily routine, writing is a part of my schedule or to do list.
Find your tribe
Today I got asked the question, who’s your tribe? Usually this set of people got you in hard times. Your people are the backbone for which you can thrive in this life. Usually it is said that you are the five go-to people in your circle. If they are doing good, you are probably doing better, the opposite is true. To be built to last, you need encouragement and motivation for your growth else you will crumble. And your tribe can help you build yourself up for positivity and greatness.
Actionable goals
Action speaks volumes. People have dreams sitting on a pile and they are wondering how they can lift things off the ground. Well, you need to know that you require action to do 99 percent of the things that you envision. Set bold, clear long term goals that inspire you and pull you forward. Regularly reflect whether your actions align with your values, and set ambitious growth goals.
Try new things
Try a lot of new stuff and maintain what best suits you. In adopting an experimental mindset you choose what works and forfeit what does not. Test different strategies in your life and see what works best for you. By experimenting new things, you can be able to decipher what’s working and what’s not. This will help you pivot and redo the things that you do so that you can last. People say life begins at 40. Probably it ends when you stop trying out new things.
Strive for excellence
Maintain a drive for excellence, don’t settle for less, and keep striving to win. Try to adopt a continuous improvement mindset in every aspect of your life be it business, beauty or personal grooming, finance, health and well-being. Visionary people never rest until they succeed and last. To be built to last, you need tenacity and a lot of grit to get there.
