A huge congratulations going out to Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh on her role as the Regional General Manager of IBM North, East and West Africa. She is now responsible for the operations is over forty countries in Africa. These countries include, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda, Morocco, Ghana, among others.

Ms Jimoh’s appointment makes her the first African and the first female to hold that position overall, after being former General Country Manager for Ghana.

In acceptance of the new role she wrote:

“I am humbled to be taking on the role of Regional General Manager IBM North, East and West Africa (NEWA). I will be working with a great team of talented, diverse and strong IBM professionals and business partners who are helping IBM clients succeed across more than 40 NEWA countries.

During this unprecedented time when every organization is grappling with rethinking their business processes, we are committed to supporting our clients and prospective clients with our state of the art technologies so they emerge stronger.

I am excited about how the NEWA team is supporting our clients to use technology in very diverse ways to solve pertinent business challenges such as addressing new cybersecurity threats, reducing operational cost and ensuring supply chain continuity and many more.

I am extremely positive about the opportunities ahead for IBM in Africa and I look forward to serving my team, business partners and our cherished clients.”

She has indeed raised the bar for women in tech and this is an inspiration for aspiring young women in technology. We wish her a successful new role as head of affairs in IBM Africa.
