Hello there! Welcome back to my blog as I usher you to a new month and a new week. It’s Decemberrrr! The final latch is here and I can’t keep calm. Who would have thought the year would move on so fast? But here we are, healthy and ready to kickstart the month with much zeal and pump. I have a few content to go for the year as I end on the 24th. Do keep it locked in and don’t forget to leave a comment.
Update
Last week, I posted about a woman running for the presidency in Namibia which I was keenly monitoring. Well, she finally won and I am so excited. Women leadership in the continent means so much to me as it serves as representation for future leaders. When my Namibian friend posted that she had won. I couldn’t help but leap for joy. As always, women leaders bring a form of accountability and fairness to the fore and I can only wish her all the best in her administration.
Voting begins
Here I was thinking elections was on December 7. Meanwhile, special voting is underway from 7am to 5pm as voters in the media and other high security offices make their way to the polls. This week promises to come with mixed feelings but we trust that all goes well throughout the entire process. Already, the Armed Forces has announced that their services wouldn’t really be needed at the polls unless the situation really calls for it, which I believe is a step in the right direction.
Media and Security
The media, police, and other special forces who will be busy on the day of voting have the chance to cast their vote today, December 2, to pave way for them to monitor the elections come Saturday. Personally, the idea of special voting is a thumbs up because there will be no excuse for others not to vote. However, there could be leakages here and there whereby the votes cast could be compromised. With that being said, the Electoral Commission has assured us of maximum security for the special votes cast.
Electoral Commission
The electoral Commission has withheld special voting in the Eastern and Western Regions due to ballot paper counterfeits. We do hope the issue is resolved swiftly to aid in a smooth electoral process. Overall, the Commission is doin a good job by enforcing laws that ensures that every citizen who is of voting age can take part in exercising the voter rights.
