Called to the Bar: Joyce Serwaa Amihere Esq

Over 800 lawyers have been called to the Ghana bar today. A ceremony to celeberate and award these fresh graduates was held at the Accra International Conference Center where numerous celebrants have gathered with family and friends for the august occasion. Additionally, four visually impaired and a wheel chair bound person or physically challenged were equally called to the bar. This honors people with disabilty and shows Ghana’s commitment to an inclusive working environment with regards to our labour laws.

Serwaa Amihere

Joyce Serwaa Amihere Esq. affectionately called Serwaa Amihere, is a media personality and brands ambassador who has faced several criticism in the public space over the years. However, the tenacity and diligence of the young woman has labelled her as the new “role model” for young women to emulate. Her recent call to the Ghana Bar Association as a distinguished female lawyer has won her several admiration from well wishers and her fan base.

Background

Serwaa Amihere started out as a braodcast journalist at the EIB Network where she was mentored and trained by the well known media mogul, Nana Aba Anamoah. The two have been inseperable as they have been seen almost always together with the latter defending Serwaa anytime there was a backlash or public scrutiny. The god mother, god daughter relationship have not gone unoticed in the public eye with some admiring from afar. So far, her work ethic has been very much talked about in the positive way.

Ambassadorial deals

Serwaa Amihere is known for her affiliations with several brands and corporate entities. Popular among her brand ambassadorial deals include, Dolait, Flora, Kitea Kitchen, Amor Contraceptives, and her recent endorsement of the Sultana Brands. She is also the CEO of a fashion brand, Office&Co and doubles as a business partner for Oh My Hair alongside her sister.

Law Career

It was rumored some few years ago that the media personality was in law school but she never came out to respond. Later, it was alleged that she had backed out and was not graduating. However, in 2023 she graduated with second class upper from the GIMPA Law School before later joining the Ghana School of Law after passing her entrance exams. Prior to that, she graduated the Methodist University College with a banking and finance degree after finishing off her senior high school education at the Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ SHS.
