Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi: The First Woman to Declare Intentions for the Nigerian Presidency Ahead of 2023

Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi (KOL) is an aspiring President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She is a 38-year-old Media Entrepreneur, Social Impact Practitioner and Founder of Slice Media Solutions, who recently became the first woman to declare her intentions to run for the Nigerian presidency ahead of the 2023 general elections;.

Okunnu-Lamidi is a people and service oriented leader who is passionate about social impact initiatives. She is the brains behind numerous Nigerian social impact initiatives including – Water Relief, Help Our Youth (HOY), To Better Nigeria, Project: Bridge the Gap, Nigerian Heart Foundation and GW Alzheimer’s Foundation. 

Okunnu-Lamidi holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Management and Human Resources Management from the University of Bolton and a Master of Science (MSc) in Strategic Project Management from Heriot-Watt University.

She is considered to be one of Nigeria’s leading women in media and advertising and have been recognized as a pioneer in the delivery of innovative brand and marketing solutions. 

Stating her reasons for running, Okunnu-Lamidi said, “I am running for the office of President because I believe Nigeria can harness its potential to be the nation of our dreams. We can move from a third world country into a developed nation with innovation and technology. 

“I believe in the possibilities Nigeria holds; that is why I have taken this first step, not because there are no fears, but the will to bring about the Nigeria we all wish, hope and believe we can make a reality together.”
