IHAV Foundation Partners Green Arts Culture to Impact Ahudzo R/C Basic Schools

IHAV Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization aimed at guiding young people towards their life’s dreams and vision in collaboration with Green Arts Culture, a social enterprise aimed at training young people to develop their creativity skills, organized the Artsy Factory + Hearty Giveaways Project to train, mentor and donate to Ahudzo R/C Basic Schools in Kpong, Eastern Region.

After a call from a teacher in the school, Green Arts Culture made a call for donations and had IHAV Foundation coming on board with massive support and Itour Family also sending in their donations. The project’s main aim was to introduce the Kindergarten class to creative arts for the enhancement of innovation and creativity skills. Also, it aimed at helping to achieve the SDGs Goal 4 which is promoting quality education.

Research has however shown how playing with colors and engaging more in visual arts can help to develop the cognitive skills of children right from infancy into adulthood, and thus, the need for more creative arts in school’s curriculum and the commissioning of creative arts labs in schools.

The school headteacher and teachers recieved the team warmly as we transitioned to engage the Kindergarten teachers and their pupils in innovative creative arts training using painting and clay moulds. The next stage was career mentorship for the upper primary to the Junior High School classes. The team engaged pupils in series of talks on career choices and the need to work hard in order to climb the academic ladder and acquire skill sets for job opportunities. Finally, the team donated some learning materials to aid in effective learning especially, for the Kindergarten. They came in the form of learning pictures, books, pencils, bowls, toys and sporting materials to aid in fun games when its time for play.

Many thanks go out to various well meaning individuals who donated to support this cause and all partners who supported through donations and well wishes. May we keep impacting and doing good to promote development in our very own unique ways.
